Every carmaker calls its new model “award-winning.” Very few can prove it with trophies that actually matter. So we did the counting for you.

This guide ranks the most awarded cars of 2026 by the big, jury-voted prizes: World Car of the Year, European Car of the Year, NACTOY, MotorTrend, Car and Driver 10Best and top safety honours. Every win was checked against official announcements in October 2026.

How We Counted the Most Awarded Cars of 2026

We only counted awards with independent juries or testing: Car of the Year programmes, major magazine awards and official safety ratings. Readers’ polls and dealer awards didn’t count.

Here’s why. One World Car title is worth more than five small web awards. When two cars tied, the one with wins in more countries ranked higher.

The Top 10 Most Awarded Cars of 2026

1. BMW iX3

Key detail: 9+ major awards, including World Car of the Year and What Car? Car of the Year.

The first Neue Klasse BMW beat 57 rivals for the world title. It’s the first BMW to win it since the 3 Series in 2006. BMW says it also won Top Gear’s Car of the Year, Swiss Car of the Year and the Golden Steering Wheel for “Best Innovation.”

Judges loved its 805 km WLTP range and 400 kW charging. No other 2026 car came close to this trophy haul.

Best for: Buyers who want the most praised EV on sale.

2. Hyundai Palisade

Key detail: NACTOY Utility of the Year (270 votes), Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year, 10Best, IIHS TSP+.

The new three-row Palisade won almost every family-SUV prize in North America. Kelley Blue Book also named it Best Midsize SUV for 2026, and it made the World Car of the Year final three.

One tip: only Palisades built after November 2025 carry the IIHS Top Safety Pick+.

3. Honda Civic

Key detail: Award wins in Canada, the US, the UK and Australia.

The Civic doesn’t make headlines. It just keeps winning. It’s the 2026 Canadian Car of the Year (second year running), a 10Best pick, What Car?’s Family Car of the Year and Drive’s Best Urban Car under $60k in Australia.

Four countries, four different juries. That’s rare.

MotorTrend picked the GTI and R over a field of crossovers. Car and Driver put the GTI on its 10Best list for the 20th time. In India, the Golf GTI won the ICOTY 2026 Premium Car Award.

5. Mercedes-Benz CLA
